Submission Guidelines

Read these guidelines carefully before submitting your story to New Fantasy Press. If you're not sure whether or not your story fits with New Fantasy Press, send it over and we'll let you know.

What we are looking for
New Fantasy Press is looking for cutting-edge fantasy, identifying (and hopefully creating) new trends in fantasy writing. We want high-quality character-driven fantasy stories. We like the weird, the innovative and the new spin on the old. Any subgenre is acceptable, but it needs to add something new.

We accept short stories (< 7000 words), and we prefer stories of approximately 3000-4000 words.

Payment
All we can offer you at this moment is exposure. Unfortunately we do not have the resources to offer any payment. This may change in the future as New Fantasy Press grows.

What we ask (or Permissions and Rights)
We ask for First Electronic Rights and the right to anthologize. All other rights reside with you, the author.

How to submit
Prepare your story using Standard Manuscript Format (visit http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~mslee/format.html for more information). Stories that do not follow these guidelines will unfortunately go unread. Attach your stories as an .rtf, .doc, or .docx file to your e-mail to newfantasypress(at)hotmail(dot)com.

We strive to get back to you with an answer within 30 days. If 30 days have passed and you haven't heard from us, do not hestitate to query at the address mentoined above.
